April is a big month for HBO Max, as three of their huge shows all have new episodes, making it a great time to stay subscribed to one of the best streaming services.

Sam Levinson's Euphoria returns for season 3 after a four-year wait, and we'll be saying goodbye to Smiling Friends as the third and final season draws to a close. Elsewhere, you won't want to miss Half Man, the new show by Baby Reindeer creator Richard Gadd.

Let's dive deeper into these three shows and see why you should watch them this April.

With a huge ensemble cast, Euphoria is one of HBO's biggest shows. Euphoria season 3 arrives on April 12, where episodes will drop weekly.

Set five years after the events of the previous season, we continue to follow the now former students of East Highland High, where life for them has undergone "significant yet unexpected changes".

Cassie and Nate get married, but Cassie ends up addicted to social media and begins envying what other people are doing. Meanwhile, Rue is in Mexico trying to pay off drug debts to Laurie, and Maddy is in Hollywood. Life looks very different for our core cast, and there's plenty of drama ahead.

It's been a depressing time for Smiling Friends fans, as the beloved adult animation series has abruptly ended after season 3. We were expecting a five-season run, but the news was recently confirmed by creators Zach Hadel and Michael Cusack.

Still, it's not over just yet, and the final episodes of season 3 will land on April 13. I don't want to say goodbye to Pim, Charlie, Alan, Glep, and the gang, but sadly, all good things must come to an end.

I wanted to hate Euphoria season 3, but the HBO Max show's trailer won me over

I'm sure season 3 will give us plenty to smile about, though, reminding us why this show is so iconic.

Finally, Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell star as two friends who were inseparable despite their differences. One is fierce and loyal, and the other is meek and mild-mannered.

But when Ruben turns up at Niall’s wedding three decades later, everything seems different. He's on edge and not acting like himself, and the plot teases that "an explosion of violence takes place".

The series follows the two men throughout thirty years of their lives, exploring themes like brotherhood, violence, and "the intense fragility of male relationships". Anyone who has seen Baby Reindeer will know that this is not going to be an easy watch, but Gadd's storytelling prowess is often very hard to look away from, even when things get tough.

Lucy is a long-time movie and television lover who is an approved critic on Rotten Tomatoes. She has written several reviews in her time, starting with a small self-ran blog called Lucy Goes to Hollywood before moving onto bigger websites such as What's on TV and What to Watch, with Tech Radar being her most recent venture. Her interests primarily lie within horror and thriller, loving nothing more than a chilling story that keeps her thinking moments after the credits have rolled. Many of these creepy tales can be found on the streaming services she covers regularly.

When she’s not scaring herself half to death with the various shows and movies she watches, she likes to unwind by playing video games on Easy Mode and has no shame in admitting she’s terrible at them. She also quotes The Simpsons religiously and has a Blinky the Fish tattoo, solidifying her position as a complete nerd.
