Lyon also excelled during the league phase as they finished level on points with Barcelona, but were pushed hard in the knockout phase. They needed extra time to overcome Wolfsburg in the quarter-finals before bouncing back from a first-leg defeat to beat Arsenal 4-3 on aggregate in the last four. Now competing in a 12th European final, they’ll aim for a repeat of the 2022 season when they beat Barcelona 3-1 to lift the crown. Striker Ada Hegerberg was on target in that final and will be hoping to fire her side to victory once again.
