Since Bilibili is widely considered China’s answer to You Tube, the platform understandably offers content across a huge range of niches. Interestingly, it first started out as a purely ACG (anime, comics, and gaming) platform. That said, it has since expanded to include fashion, lifestyle, technology, gastronomy, and more.
What’s more, there’s also a strong focus on educational content, now curated into a dedicated “Knowledge Zone” within Bilibili. The platform also carries a wide selection of movies, documentaries, and TV shows. Some popular movie titles include Queen of Tears, The Gangster's Daughter, Tinker Bell: Secret of the Wings, and Watchmaker. In TV shows, viewers can find Demon Slayer, The Daily Life of the Immortal King, Detective Conan, and Black Summoner, among others.
One of the platform’s standout features is that fans can watch content together and post comments in real time, which appear as an overlay across the video stream. This unique feature is known as Danmu, or “bullet chat.”
