Like Haiti, tiny Caribbean nation Curaçao came through CONCACAF qualifying to reach a first World Cup. Managed by the hugely experienced Dutch coach Advocaat (who led the Netherlands at the 1994 World Cup and South Korea in 2006), the Blue Wave thrashed Haiti 5-1 in June last year as they qualified unbeaten with seven wins from 10 games. They will be delighted, too, that Advocaat is back in the dugout. The 78-year-old Dutchman stood down for personal reasons in February, but was reinstated earlier this month after a player-led revolt over successor Fred Rutten's methods, following defeats by China and Australia.
