The Audacity is a new dark satirical American drama set in the heart of Silicon Valley. Easily the biggest draw of this show? It’s written by Jonathan Glatzer, known for writing and producing shows like Succession (a nine-time Primetime Emmy Award winner) and Better Call Saul – which, bafflingly, didn’t win any Emmys.
The story follows Duncan Park (played by Billy Magnussen), a super-talented tech CEO obsessed with data and insights, driven to mint money. But he’s egotistical and prone to ethical lapses, which makes him vulnerable to scandals and internal power struggles.
Then there’s Joanne (Sarah Goldberg), a therapist who starts off neutrally observing and counselling Duncan, but gradually gets pulled into the world and treachery of rich billionaires, forcing her to question her own boundaries.
While the setting may seem similar to Succession, The Audacity shifts the lens inward, exploring the mental and ethical fractures of the tech world. Complete with a slow-burn narrative and sharp satire, can The Audacity deliver a modern critique of contemporary tech culture and the eccentricities of those calling the shots?
Here’s how to watch The Audacity online – potentially even for FREE – from anywhere in the world.
