The Other Bennet Sister is a 10-part period drama based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Janice Hadlow. It tells the story of the middle sister, Mary Bennet, from Pride and Prejudice, exploring how an unassuming woman in those times, through pure bravery, is able to shun the typical narrative that all a woman must aspire to is a good marriage.

The story follows the events of Pride and Prejudice but centers Mary Bennet (played by Ella Bruccoleri of Call the Midwife, Bridgerton) as the main character, following her as she travels from her home to London and the Lake District.

Along the way, the series explores the self-love, reinvention, and even an epic love story she discovers as she steps out of the shadows of her sisters and finds herself. The director, Jennifer Sheridan, said the series is “full of encouragement for young women who feel they don’t quite fit in yet.”
