VRT offers live sports, movies, TV shows completely FREE
Looking to watch VRT – Belgium's premium (but FREE) Dutch-language streaming platform – from outside Belgium? If you're visiting the US, UK, Canada or anywhere else, you can use a VPN – Nord VPN works best – to unblock VRT and stream as normal from any location.
VRT offers everything from live news and radio to films, TV shows, documentaries, and podcasts, with a wide range of content across multiple genres. It combines local Flemish favourites with international titles, making it one of the country’s most complete all-round streaming services.
Sport is covered through Sporza (Giro d'Italia highlights), VRT’s dedicated sports section. This is free as well and features major cycling events, plus football, tennis, athletics, padel, and more throughout the year.
However, if you’re outside Belgium, VRT will be geo-restricted due to licensing agreements, meaning you won’t be able to access it. If you’re travelling or living abroad and still want to enjoy VRT free library, here’s a quick guide on how to watch it from anywhere in the world.
VRT is the Dutch-language streaming platform of Belgium, and all of its content is completely FREE for viewers in the country.
– Head to the VRT website and click the Register button in the top-right corner.
New? Click Register here, enter your details, and you’ll be ready to start streaming. There’s no need to enter any credit card details or payment information, as the platform is completely free.
But you can only do this when in Belgium (i.e. with a Belgian IP address). Abroad right now? Here’s how to unblock VRT...
VRT is only available to watch in Belgium, which means it won't work if you try to stream when overseas on business or vacation. However, you can always download a VPN to overcome these regional restrictions and access VRT as normal when you're outside Belgium. You may be surprised how simple it is to do.
Not having a VPN is like leaving your front door wide open in a busy city – anyone can walk right in and take a peek.
Tech Radar regularly reviews all the biggest and best VPN providers and Nord VPN is our #1 choice. You can find out why with our in-depth Nord VPN review.
