This HP Omen 16 deal with RTX 5050 graphics is a steal for video editing — and I can't find it cheaper anywhere else

The HP Omen 16 may be a budget gaming laptop, but with this price cut you won't want to miss it if you're a content creator

If you're a content creator looking for a machine that can handle photo and video editing but won't break the bank, I've found a top laptop deal on the HP Omen 16 for

1099(was1099 (was
1399) at Walmart. And in the UK, the same spec HP laptop is down to £1199 (was £1399) at Currys.

This 16-inch model is packed with a high-performance Intel Core Ultra 5 225H processor, RTX 5050 graphics card, and 16GB DDR5 of memory, which will making running image and video editing software feel snappy and responsive.

Now, it's not an ultra-cheap RTX laptop, but this discount does come in nearer the budget end for a model with the chops to tackle graphics-intensive tasks like content creation (generally, the cheapest I've seen is the HP Victus 15 and Acer Nitro V 15, which run to around

800800-
900 for the base trim). Below, I've also rounded up an extra selection of US deals and UK deals with big savings on laptops built for content creation.

CPU: Intel Core Ultra 5 225H | GPU: Nvidia RTX 5050 | RAM: 16GB | SSD: 1TB

A great discount on a HP laptop built for graphically demanding workloads like video editing and gaming. Specs are good for the price, featuring a H-series chip for greater performance and the RTX 5050 laptop GPU.

Looking beyond the headline specs of the Core Ultra 5 and RTX 5050, there are a number of features that stood out to me for creators.

The processor is AI-enabled, which means you'll have a better experience when using tools like generative expand in the Adobe suite.

The graphics card here serves up a dedicated 8GB GDDR7 VRAM, which is the minimum I'd recommend for video editing tasks.

The display has a 2K resolution with color accuracy and coverage of 100% s RGB for online photos and videos. However, you'll want a laptop with as close to 100% DCI-P3 as you can get if you're looking to go beyond phone and laptop screens - you'll find a couple of options below.

It's not a powerhouse workstation by any stretch of the imagination - you'll have to pay at least double for that. But the HP Omen 16 will easily run creative software as well as games on lower settings, making it a good pick at this discount price for work and play.

CPU: Intel Core i 5-13420H | GPU: Nvidia RTX 5050 | RAM: 16GB DDR5 | SSD: 1TB

The Acer Nitro V 15 has always proved a good budget buy for those need power without paying too much. In our review, we found it delivered a performance that's great for the price.

CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285H | GPU: Nvidia RTX 5070 | RAM: 16GB DDR5 | SSD: 1TB

Big savings on this creator and gaming laptop with the specs needed to seamlessly render footage in software like Premiere Pro. Additionally, what stands out to me here is the 2.5K OLED display.

CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX | GPU: Nvidia RTX 5060 | RAM: 16GB DDR5 | SSD: 1TB

A well-specced machine for editing photos and videos here. It's a high-performance model, and for creators, the 100% DCI-P3 color coverage is going to be perfect.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7445H | GPU: Nvidia RTX 4050 | RAM: 16GB DDR5 | SSD: 1TB

The HP Victus has always been a solid budget choice for graphics-intensive tasks. The RTX 40-series GPU may not be the latest, but balances out with the R7 chip and fast DDR5 memory. A great starter laptop for creators.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX | GPU: Nvidia RTX 5060 | RAM: 32GB DDR5 | SSD: 1TB

This is a higher-powered variant on the main Omen model above, and comes kitted out with a HX-series Ryzen 9 chip, 32GB memory, and the RTX5060 laptop GPU, which is great for content creation.

CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9-275HX | GPU: Nvidia RTX 5080 | RAM: 32GB DDR5 | SSD: 1TB

Top-end specs here for those that demand more power for graphically demanding workloads. We found it praised its powerful performance in our review.
