It's fair to say this has been a dismal winter across both sides of the Atlantic. New York is under feet of snow, while here in the UK we've had nothing but non-stop rain for weeks on end. However, the end is in sight: I ran under blue skies and sunshine yesterday (in between bouts of more rain), and I have faith it'll be a bright and beautiful rest of 2026.

As luck would have it, Amazon is offering two great deals in the US and UK for the Garmin Instinct 2 Solar, a watch that uses Garmin's proprietary Power Glass technology for potentially 'infinite battery life' when exposed to three hours of sun each day.

In the US, you can get the enormous 50mm Garmin Instinct 2X Solar Tactical Edition discounted from

499.99downtojust499.99 down to just
299.99 on Amazon in its Black colorway, a saving of $200 and a lowest-ever price according to our price-tracking tool.

In the UK? I've not forgotten about you. Right now, you can score the 45mm Garmin Instinct 2 Solar in Mist Grey, from £389.99 down to £291.99 on Amazon – not quite a lowest-ever price, but still pretty good, saving you over £100.

Check out both deals in full below, and scroll down for the best Garmin watch deals in your region.

Save a cool $200 on the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar Tactical Edition, ideal for people who spend a long time outdoors and want a very rugged watch. The extra-tough Tactical Edition comes with Garmin's built-in LED flashlight, handy for signalling in the dark – or finding your way to the bathroom

Not quite a lowest price on the slightly smaller Instinct 2, but a very good £98 saving. The Instinct 2 is an older watch now, but it's still an outstanding, hard-wearing wellness tracker I wore and trained with for years. It survived long marathon training runs, surfing, hiking, and near-constant wear.

The Garmin Instinct 2 is showing its age, but it's still a fantastic watch worth getting at a discount, especially the solar models. We gave it five stars in our review, saying "if you're in the market for a watch that's both practical and fun to wear, this is the one for you."

If you're out in bright sunlight, the watch's Power Glass technology will reduce the drain on its battery life: staying out for three hours or more in bright conditions will offset the drain entirely, hence in the right conditions, you get 'infinite' battery life. However, if you're after something more recent, there's always the Garmin Instinct 3 to consider.
